Thereā€™s always been a pretty big controversy over whether the open office floor plan is good or bad for employees. We wanted to take some time to give our take and show you exactly how we operate here at Fooji.

Ever since the early days in our 900 sq ft apartment, the open layout has worked for us šŸ™Œ

Here are 7 reasons why we love the open office floor plan (for our business and for our employees) šŸ”„

  1. Invites open conversation between employees that helps build team culture
  2. Creates an exciting environment that each person looks forward to being a part of every day
  3. Breaks barriers between supervisors and employees which allows communication to be more fluid
  4. Allows for modular desk setups (we can grow as quickly as we need to without having to tweak the floor plan)
  5. The aesthetic appeal of an open office floor plan is more inviting than a cubicle layout
  6. Reduces costs like building cubicle walls, purchasing specific office equipment for each employee, etc.
  7. Fosters a sense of a shared mission, allowing each employee to feel more like 1 big team rather than several different departments

If weā€™re totally honest with ourselves, we know there are some negatives to the open-plan as well (thatā€™s why we also have private breakout rooms for when we need our solo time).

Overall, weā€™re fans.

We want everyone to love where they work. When you create an office environment that gets people excited, work becomes meaningful. We couldnā€™t ask for a better Fooji fam ā¤ļø

With love,

Fooji HQ šŸ˜
