We’re dedicated to building our reputation as experts in the experiential marketing industry. Even with all of the hard work we put in daily, we make sure to put a heavy emphasis on maintaining a work environment that’s both healthy and fun!

Our main focus is providing brands the best experience possible when partnering with us. In order for us to do that, we have to work from the inside out. Our HR department is heavily involved in making internal decisions that lead to us performing even better on the outside 🙌

We caught up with HR to get their take on the Fooji environment and why it works so well:

😍 : In your words, describe the Fooji culture:

👩‍💻: Fooji is an exciting place to be with coworkers that are more like your family. It’s amazing to see each team member working so hard toward a common goal, and going the extra mile to help each other 🙏

What does your day to day look like?

There really isn’t a day-to-day for us 😂 It depends on the needs of the company. Sometimes we’re in full recruiting mode. Some days we have new hires that we’re setting up and training. Occasionally we get to plan fun events for the company! One thing we want to do every day though is make sure that our employees are happy, comfortable, safe and that we ensure Fooji is the best place to work 💯

Why should companies invest in an effective HR department?

Not only is having an effective HR department necessary from safety and legal standpoints, but you also need people who are constantly checking the pulse of the company — trying to find new ways to engage employees. We want to make sure each member of the Fooji family loves coming to work everyday 🤗

What’s your vision for the future of Fooji?

We’d love to see Fooji continue to grow. Fooji started in a small studio apartment, and we’ve expanded into a dynamic international company. The excitement surrounding that type of growth is contagious…we can’t wait to see what the future holds🔮

What are some “requirements” for Fooji?

Something we put in our intern job descriptions is that applicants should have a sense of humor and a good story, and this holds true for any position here. All of our employees love to laugh, have a good time, and bring new insight to the team!

What does the heart eyes mean to you?

We have a phrase here in the office called that “Fooji Feeling” and we believe the heart eyes embodies that phrase 😍 The Fooji Feeling is one of excitement, optimism, acceptance, creativity and the drive to be ready to do amazing things!

What makes having a tech startup in Lexington unique?

Having a tech startup in Lexington presents many opportunities. There’s a lot of talent in Lexington and the surrounding areas. That might come as a surprise because Kentucky’s not generally considered a tech hub. Also, Lexington’s a university city so we are able to attract and retain local talent. Instead of moving to a larger city to showcase their skills we can keep them here in the Commonwealth. This retention benefits Fooji and stimulates our tech community as a whole.

How many people apply per month?

Last year, we averaged 454 applications per month 😱

How do you make things fun/interesting around the office and keep people involved?

We’re constantly monitoring the mood or “taking the temperature” of the office 🌡️ We’re always open to one-on-one meetings with employees where they can voice their concerns confidentially. We also try to have group meetings so people feel comfortable sharing in a collaborative environment. Additionally, Fooji employees are involved in tons of activities that encourage team building, such as: Fooji Dog Parents, group trips to sporting events, book clubs, sports, movie nights, World Emoji Day outings, Holiday parties… Honestly, there are too many to list. The bottom line is that we want our employees to be happy, comfortable and excited about coming to work each day 😁 The more we can show support to each team member the more successful we will be!

What are available jobs right now at Fooji?

We currently have Android and iOS Engineer openings available.

In order for us to perform well with our partners, we first have to find great talent and add to the team while also maintaining our unique work atmosphere. Without our HR team, the overall environment of Fooji wouldn’t be the same.

We value the hard work that HR does to keep everyone happy and their constant search for bringing star talent into Fooji. They’re a huge reason we’re all so positive about coming into work each day and doing our best to make our partners’ experiences better 😊
